Our Journey
Every great journey begins with a dream, and mine began in 2004 with a simple idea: creating a comfortable, welcoming home away from home for Texas Tech students.
As a mother, I understood how important it was for parents to know their children had a safe, comfortable place to call home while away at college. I've always had a special place in my heart for young people, and investing in student housing gave me the opportunity to make a difference while building something meaningful for my own family.
I purchased my first rental home on 21st Street, just a short walk from Texas Tech University. I quickly fell in love with the neighborhood and continued purchasing homes along the same block. What started with one house gradually grew into something much bigger — 21 Raider Alley.
For more than 20 years, I also enjoyed a career in television with Lubbock's local ABC and CBS affiliates. But even while balancing my career and family, my passion for creating beautiful, welcoming homes continued to grow.
In 2017, a new chapter began. I wanted to give families visiting their Texas Tech students something more than a hotel room. I envisioned a place where parents could cook dinner with their kids, gather around a firepit, share stories, laugh, and simply enjoy being together.
And so, my vacation rental journey began!
Over the years, I've transformed several of my homes into unique, tropical-inspired retreats, each with its own personality and charm. What started as student housing has blossomed into little slices of paradise where families reconnect, friends celebrate, and visitors create lasting memories.
In 2025, I retired from television to devote more time to 21 Raider Alley and my family. My daughter, Allison, is now a proud Texas Tech graduate, married with two beautiful daughters of her own. Becoming a grandmother has made me appreciate those precious family moments even more.
What began as a dream of providing homes for students has grown into a passion for bringing people together.
And after all these years, nothing makes me happier than knowing the homes I've created are helping others make memories of their own.

Aloha! 🌺 I'm Beverly, the proud owner and creative spirit behind 21 Raider Alley!
I'm a Lubbock local, a proud Texas Tech mom, a wife, and a very happy grandmother to two beautiful little girls. After spending more than 20 years working in television with Lubbock's local ABC and CBS affiliates, I retired in 2025 to spend more time doing what I love most — enjoying my family and pouring my heart into 21 Raider Alley.
I've always had a passion for creating spaces that make people feel welcome. What started with student rental homes has grown into a collection of unique vacation retreats, each with its own personality and a little tropical flair. From choosing the perfect decor to adding those unexpected touches that make guests smile, I love every part of bringing these homes to life.
But my favorite part of hosting isn't the decorating — it's the people!
Over the years, I've had the pleasure of getting to know wonderful Texas Tech students, proud parents, returning families, and travelers from all walks of life. There's nothing more rewarding than hearing that my guests felt right at home, enjoyed precious time together, or made memories they'll cherish long after their visit.
I believe great hospitality is about more than providing a beautiful place to stay. It's about the little things, genuine kindness, and making people feel like they're visiting an old friend.
And because I live right here in Lubbock, I'm always just a message away if you need anything during your stay.

Welcome to 21 Raider Alley, a collection of unique student rental homes and tropical-inspired vacation retreats nestled in the Heart of Lubbock, just a short walk from Texas Tech University.
But first, have you ever wondered how we got our name?
It's actually a little family story! The 21 represents 21st Street, where our journey began. Raider is a tribute to our beloved Texas Tech Red Raiders. And Alley? That's the nickname of my daughter, Allison!
Put them all together, and 21 Raider Alley was born!

What began in 2004 with a single student rental home has grown into a collection of thoughtfully maintained properties, each designed to make guests feel welcome, comfortable, and right at home.
Our student rentals offer a convenient place for Red Raiders to call home while attending Texas Tech. And for families, friends, and travelers visiting Lubbock, our vacation rentals offer something a little unexpected — a tropical getaway in the middle of West Texas!
Each of our vacation homes has its own personality, charm, and special touches.
The Copacabana brings a little island elegance to Lubbock, while The Bung offers a cozy, retro-coastal hideaway. Together, these two homes become The Island, perfect for larger groups wanting to stay close while enjoying their own space.
Across our collection, The Beachcomber offers a colorful tropical casa, and The Hut provides a charming little tiki escape. Booked together as The Freaky Tiki, they're a fun-filled retreat for families and friends looking to make the most of their time together.
From tropical-inspired decor and inviting outdoor spaces to firepits, backyard games, and tiki-inspired gathering spots, we've created places where guests can relax, reconnect, and enjoy a little Island Time.
